Frequently asked questions
How do I ship my milk (or any inclusion)?
Please see our "How to" section for all information pertaining to shipping your inclusions. This information will also be included in your confirmation email.
Can you explain the turnaround time and cost of the Keepsakes?
Our current turn around time is 10-12 weeks; once your inclusion has been received. Most keepsakes are shipping out at 5-8 weeks.
The method of preserving your milk from start to finish (not including the time spent working on the jewelry portion) is about 4 weeks. Through trial and error we have found this method to be the best to preserve your milk properly; but it takes a number of labour hours, which is reflected in our price.

How can I ensure it is MY milk in my keepsake?
This was a major concern of mine, the first time I bought a piece of breast milk jewelry.
Each order is separated from other orders by a minimum of 3 containers. Your preserved milk goes into a container, which is placed into another container with your keepsake item, which is then placed into another separate bin. Each container and bin are labeled accordingly.
Before and after working on an order I sanitize my studio and ensure all used materials are properly disposed of.
I take this very seriously, and would never do anything to risk contaminating anyone's keepsake. I create these pieces with so much love, because I understand how much they mean to you.

Can I track my the progress of my item?
Yes, please see our "Order Progress" section.
I will do my absolute best to keep this page updated. You will need to know your order number to find the correct information. Please keep in mind I am the only employee, so patience is appreciated.

How do I care for my jewelry?
Please see our "How to" section for all information pertaining to care.

Where are you located?
We are located in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.

Do I need to refrigerate my milk to be shipped?
Nope! The milk used for your piece is not being consumed, so there is no need to expedite your package or refrigerate it during shipping. Milk can be freshly pumped, or over a year old; it will all be okay to use!

Do you have a refund or exchange policy?
No.
Due to the type of jewelry we offer, we do not offer refund or exchanges. We are a very small business and work with other artisans to create your pieces, so refunds are not feasible. Please make sure to confirm your ring size, if that is your keepsake of choice. We are unable to exchange rings for a different size once it is ordered.

Where do you ship to?
We currently ship worldwide, but please be aware of shipping times due to Covid-19. There are still many delays.

I want to ensure my inclusions arrive safely. Can I request a signature upon delivery?
Please refrain from requesting a Delivery Signature on any inclusion packages.
While we understand and want your inclusions to arrive safely as well, we have young children and are not always able to make it to the door to sign for a package. If I am unable to sign, the package won't be available to pick up until the following business day at the post office. I am also not always able to make it to the post office right away, so it can result in a delay with your order.

What if I just placed my order and want to cancel?
Once your order has been accepted, you are unable to receive a refund. Every order is custom made, and once accepted artisans are hard at work to create your beautiful custom piece. If there is an issue within 24 hours of ordering, please let us know.

What if my keepsake was undeliverable, and returned to Deep-Rooted Love?
If you would like me to ship it again I am more than happy to; however you will have to cover the shipping fees the second time.
Because the keepsake is completed (and completely unique to you), there are no refunds.

How long do I have to send in my inclusions?
Preferably, 6 months from when you place your order. If you need more time, please get in touch with us - we understand that life happens and sometimes we need more time!
